Who is eligible to join ABAGD? Membership

Applicants must hold a dental degree from an accredited institution and maintain a valid license in good standing. All applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee before approval.

What are the benefits of membership? Membership

Members receive access to curated study guides, live and on-demand webinars, case-based study clubs, mentorship, and structured exam preparation—plus early notifications and event discounts.

What is the certification pathway? Exams

The pathway is: Membership → meet CE benchmarks → Written Examination → Oral Examination → Diplomate status. Dates and requirements are posted on the Examinations page.

How often are exams held? Exams

Examinations are typically offered one per year for each part. The schedule, locations, and deadlines are announced on the News and Examinations pages and emailed to eligible candidates.

Do you provide study materials or sample questions? Exams

Yes. Candidates receive an exam blueprint, recommended reading list, sample cases, and access to optional mock sessions and study clubs for written and oral exam preparation.

Do courses include CE credit? Education

ABAGD-approved programs provide CE credit. Hours are listed per event; certificates are issued upon completion and can be used for licensure and credentialing as permitted by your jurisdiction.

Are non-members allowed to attend ABAGD courses? Education

Many offerings are member-exclusive. Selected webinars and events welcome non-member registration with limited seats.

How does ABAGD address digital dentistry and AI? Education

Our programs incorporate proven, evidence-based digital workflows—such as intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing— and responsible uses of AI where they benefit patient care and outcomes.
